This charming Spanish style home in Santa Monica went through a second expansion and garden renovation a few years after our first design. Originally, we had given the exterior a garden facelift with a small fountain and pots on the existing brick terrace.
The owners enlarged the family room area again and wanted the exterior to be a welcome retreat for entertaining. In Santa Monica, California, that meant outdoor gas heaters and a barbeque. We added an overhead arbor and seat wall which incorporated gas heaters along with a barbeque with a Mexican tile
backsplash and counter using only yellow and rust colors with a little green.
The rear patio still includes the small, three spout fountain with Mexican tiles from the first renovation and adds the sound of water to the experience.
